Sergio's talk at POW Summit 2024 in Frankfurt was a pivotal moment for BitVMX, as it was the event were the Union Bridge was presented.

Union Bridge is built as a permissionless bridge between the Bitcoin and Rootstock blockchains. It leverages BitVMX’s dispute-resolution framework to facilitate seamless BTC transfers across the two ecosystems.

This process, based on the fundamentals of BitVMX, eliminates the need for custodial intermediaries or collateralization in other tokens. Instead, it relies on cryptographic proofs to ensure that every BTC transfer between the chains remains fully decentralized and verifiable.
